Is every piece one of one?
Every piece is one of one: there is a single specimen, and once it sells, it is gone. New pieces arrive in drops.
Is the photo the exact piece?
The photo is the exact piece you get, shot in daylight by the founder, a former portrait photographer. There are no stock photos and no "similar to pictured."
What does a geoslut label say?
A geoslut label says what the mineral is and its locality, the place it was mined. Some localities go down to a county, like San Juan County, Colorado, and some name a country, like South Africa.
Are your crystals real?
Our crystals are real minerals, and any stone that has been treated or coated is labeled as treated or coated.
Do you sell treated or coated stones?
When we sell treated or coated stones, the label always says so. Aura quartz, for example, is real quartz with a thin film of metal bonded on in a vacuum chamber: not fake, but not natural color either.
How do you clean crystals?
Clean crystals with a soft dry brush first, and check the hardness before using water. Quartz at Mohs 7 can be rinsed and air dried, soft minerals like celestite should stay dry, and smoky quartz, amethyst and kunzite can fade in strong sun.
Is shipping free?
Shipping is free on US orders over $75, and every order ships from Denver, Colorado.
Can an order be canceled?
An order can be canceled any time before it ships. Email hi@geoslut.com with your order details as soon as you can.
What is a drop?
A drop is a batch of new pieces released at the same time, each one of one, each labeled and photographed in daylight.
How does the list work?
The list works by email: sign up with the form on the home page, and you hear about new pieces before the shop does.
What does price at drop mean?
Price at drop means the price is posted when the piece is released in a drop, and the list sees it first.
